H BOMB!
29/11/2011
Congratulations to Harry Lomas on reaching the milestone of 100 competitive goals for the club's U11s squad.
Harry joined Dynamos for the start of the U8s season after previously playing at Moston Juniors and straight away became a popular and productive member of the squad.
Sadly Dynamos will be missing H's talents for the next few weeks as he recently broke his collar bone playing football at school, but no doubt he'll be back again soon enough to start chipping away at the next ton. Well done H

Remembrance Day Wreathe
13/11/2011
Once again this year Dynamos players and volunteers joined the
official Remembrance Day walk through Failsworth to the War Memorial on
Oldham Road.
Sadly the event clashed with a raft of Manchester FA
County Cup games, which meant the attendance suffered slightly, but
regardless the club was represented in a fitting manner by those who
attended.
A wreathe was laid at the memorial on behalf of
Failsworth Dynamos by Honorary President Neil Blood and Marley Armstrong
from the U10s squad.

DYNAMOS HAT & SCARF SET
22/10/2011
With the Winter months soon upon us the club have spoken to our kit
supplier and produced a quality hat and scarf set to help keep kids,
parents, coaches and managers alike all warm and toasty through the cold
spell, and we are making these items available at their cost price to
anyone who wants to place an order.
As you can see from the photo both items are nicely badged up with the
club logos, and are available as a set for only £10. The hat comes in
one size, but we've tried it on both little kids and big blokes and
either can happily wear them. So anyone wanting to place an order should
speak to their Dynamos manager ASAP who will pass on the request in
order for us to source the items well before Christmas should they be
required as presents.

A MESSAGE FROM OUR HON PRESIDENT
21/08/2011
Can I take this opportunity to congratulate all our teams on a fantastic 2010-2011 season. From our U7's going all season unbeaten to the U11's winning the county cup, our U15's winning numerous trophies and last but not least our 1st team winning the Lancs Amateur Premier League. In a season of major transisition it is testament to all those managers, coaches, players & volunteers within the Dynamos family that we have had our most successful season ever. WELL DONE TO ALL!! I would also like to congratulate Mike Beresford & Phil Evans for winning the Matty D & Martin Harding awards - two people who have Dynamos running through their veins. My final message is to wish all players, managers, coaches & volunteers a successful and most of all an enjoyable season 2011-2012.

The Under 15's are all set to become the new Under 16's in the 2011/2012 season as they continue their winning ways by picking up their fifth and sixth trophies of the season by winning the Haslingdon Tournament on 3rd July for the second year running and then going on to win the Hoyland common Falcon tournament in barnsley on the 16th july playing against some great teams along the way. They won the final 3-1 against another strong manchester team delemere with cesaire lingouba leveling the score then louis smith running from defence to score the goal of the tournament with his left foot...then our captian kane wallwork finished them off with a well worked goal leaving us well deserved 3-1 winners and capping off a great season. GOOD EVANS!
18/07/2011
Failsworth Dynamos are proud to announce that the winner of this year's Martin Harding Award is Youth Section Chairman Mr Phil Evans.
Phil would be the first to tell you that he doesn't volunteer any of the time he does at Failsworth Dynamos for any kind of reward, but still, given his year's of dedication, reliability and steadfast commitment to the club, the Awards Committee felt it was the right time to officially acknowledge his true worth and give thanks for all he has done so far.
As well as being a supremely dedicated and hugely proficient coach, Phil has always proved himself to be a vital and highly important driving force within the club's volunteer backbone. So, well done Phil, this official recognition for all your hard work and dedication is thoroughly deserved and probably long over due.
Here we see Phil receiving his award from Gary Dalton, Neil Blood and Leo Turner at the recent Youth Section Presentation Event.

BEZ HAS A HAPPY FRIDAY
18/07/2011
We are pleased to announce that the winner of this year's Matty Dalton Award is Michael Beresford.
Michael was chosen by the Awards Committee after fighting off stiff competition from some other equally worthy candidates and was presented with his award at the recent Presentation Evening for the club's Youth Section.
Michael is a long-standing and hugely dedicated young Dynamo, who has been at the club right through from his mini-soccer years to become a Reserve team regular at who is now knocking on the door for a place in the club's first team.
Here we see Michael being presented with his award by Leo Turner, Gary Dalton and Neil Blood.

THE DOC HEALS THE PAIN
25/06/2011
One of the club's junior Presentation Events was boosted by the arrrival of a living football legend in the form of former Manchester United manager Tommy Docherty. Tommy responded personally to a letter sent to the MEN by John Bentley bemoaning the lack of support for such events from the professional game and asked if he could be of service.
Tommy travelled over to the Brookdale Golf Club from his home in Cheshire and helped present the individual awards to kids from the U7s, U8s and U10s squads, spending over two hours with the kids, posing for pictures and signing autographs.
Tommy is shown here with John, Mike and Tony from the U10s receiving a big thank you gift from Dynamos in the form of a beautifully presented case of Rioja wine.

UNBEATEN ALL SEASON
07/06/2011
Although officially classed as playing in a 'non competitive' league this season, Ian Kelly's U7 boys certainly competed to the best of their abilities and achieved the superb feat of going all season without losing a single game.
Well done to Ian, Boardy and the boys, and good luck for next season

U10s HOLLAND TRIP A HUGE SUCCESS
07/06/2011
For the first time ever in Failsworth Dynamo's history a mini-soccer squad from the club have toured on foreign soil. Our U10s undertook a five night trip over to Holland to represent the club in a series of games, culminating in a specially arranged invitation only tournament at Stadion Woudenstein as guests of top flight Dutch side SBV Excelsior of Rotterdam.
In a three day period our two mini-soccer teams played a total of 18 matches, winning 13, drawing one and losing only four, which was a truly excellent return when you consider most of the matches were played against slightly older boys. The Dynamos players were a credit to the club both on and off the pitch and made a lasting impression on everyone they met, with many of their Dutch opponents enquiring about the possibility of making a similar visit to Manchester.
Based at the 4* Novotel in Schiedam just outside Rotterdam, the party also visited historic Delft and the seaside resort of Scheveningen during their stay. The boys are shown above in their travel outfits ready to depart for the overnight ferry to Holland.
Various photos from the trip (some with blackmailing opportunities) can be seen on the following link; http://www.flickr.com/photos/63806610@N04

Millwards U11's Do Him Proud In Cup Victory
21/05/2011
Wow - It seems that the Under 11's age group for Dynamos is having incredible successes this season. Phil Millward's, Adam's and Mike's U11's Dynamos team travelled to Woodley Sports in Stockport to play their League cup final against a strong Dukinfield Tigers team and after a fantastic hard fought game won the game 2-1 and picked up the cup. This added to their already won league title to make it a magnificent double for the lads this season. Well done from all the club. The lads are pictured here with manager Phil and coaches Adam and Mike behind the now famous Dynamos banner that is doing the rounds this season.

First Ever Dynamos County Cup Winners
15/05/2011
Tony Tapper and John Cooper's U11's have picked up the coveted County Cup. The first ever Dynamos team to do so. They beat Glossop North End on penalties in a nailbiting final that had the huge mainly Dynamos crowd on the edge of their seats. A few weeks ago Kane Kelly broke his collar bone and was certain to miss this game but after a miracle recovery and alot of bravery he came on to put Dynamos 1-0 up in the second half. After tons of Dynamos pressure to get the second, Glossop scored a fantastic 30 yard free kick to equalise and make the last 10 minutes really exciting. The game finished 1-1 and went straight to pens and when it went to sudden death, Dynamos Keeper Zak Booth stepped up to take one and smashed it home, He then made an incredible save on Glossops sixth penalty to leave Dynamos Zak Clarke to step up to smash Dynamos into the record books. Man of the match went to Ben Hough (watch out for a seperate picture of Ben in the next few days). For the moment though above is the pic of the team after they received the cup. Well done Boys - 13 years Dynamos have waited for this.

Sandy & Alex's Boys Complete Double
14/05/2011
Failsworth Dynamos U15's completed a great season by winning both the Tameside & District Saturday League Title and The Tameside League Cup going undefeated in both competitions. They had already had pre-season success winning the Beechfield and Haslingden tournaments making this by far their most successful season in Dynamos. A big mention goes our Captain Kane Wallwork who has been excellent all season and deserves the success his team has brought him... Well done to all the lads and a big thank you to all the parents for their support this season.

Running For a Trio of Causes
13/05/2011
Good luck to JB and Gary next weekend - Hope the bike road goes well for Jamies Fund and the great causes it contributes to. Also running this weekend is Ben Lawson, Karen Wetton and Wayne 'Kenno' Kennedy. They are running in the 10K Manchester run with Ben running for Oldham General A&E Unit, Karen is running yet again for the Matty D Fund and Kenno is running to raise money for the First Team and Reserves who have been strapped for cash this season. Spare a thought too for young Michael Wetton who has run the BUPA run every year for the last three years for the Matty D fund but cant this year cos he is going to Wembley with his dad to watch City. Michael wants Gary and Joanne to know that he will be back next year running for the Matty D fund.

Can he make it in one piece?
12/05/2011
You will no doubt be slightly intrigued to hear that Dynamos stalwart John Bentley, along with his brother Gary and 14 friends and colleagues, are setting out on Friday 22nd May to cycle Coast to Coast across northern England from the Cumbrian coast near Whitehaven to Tynemouth near Newcastle over two long days.
John and his party are raising money for Jaime's Fund, a regular sponsor of Failsworth Dynamos causes, to help donate to the Onside charity who are currently building to Youth Centres in Oldham and Harpurhey. Once again trying to improve the lives and opportunities of kids in our community in Jaimes name.
A link to the fund raising page is shown below, and given the huge amount of time and dedication JB provides unselfishly for our club, it would be nice if a few people took a few moments of their time and a couple of quid from their pockets to help sponsor him;

Kenno's & Ben's U13s in Cup Success
08/05/2011
In a superbly exciting League Cup Final at Ashton United's Hurst Cross ground this morning - Sunday 8th May - Dynamos U13s beat Prestwich Town 4-2 to pick up the cup. In a fiercely competitive game, Cameron Humphreys scored twice with further goals from Callum Scullion and Adam Deaville. All Dynamos goals were fantastic but Camerons long range screamer to make it 4-2 to clinch the game was as good a goal as you will see at any level. Dynamos also picked up the coveted man of the match award which went to midfielder Marshall (marshy) Roberts. Well done kids and well done to Wayne Kennedy Jnr and Ben Lawson - our two first teamers who have run this team since they were U7's.

'Evans' Above - Its promotion for the U14s
02/05/2011
What a season for our Under 14's. After losing the first three league games of the season, it looked like it was going to be a tough season for Phil Evans and his lads in the Tameside U14's second division. However, they dusted themselves off and got down to some really hard work and ground out win after win after win and on Sunday won their final game of the season to gain promotion as runners up. What an achievement by the lads pictured here with Phil just after them game in celebratory mood.

Reece Dalton For Dynamos
24/04/2011
New arrival Reece Dalton arrived at Brierley Avenue to cheer the first team on in a recent home game and was presented with a first team shirt that we hope he will launch his Dynamos career in when he is old enough. Dad Gary and Mum Joanne loved the shirt which bore his name and squad number (he was born on the 10th March 2011) and are pictured here proudly showing off Reece. The club would like to send all their love and best wishes to Jo and Gary on the birth of Reece who is of course the little brother or our beloved Matty who continues to inspire the club and its players with his name proudly emblazened on many of our shirts.

Harry and Jack Cap Under 9's Night
09/06/2010
Our Under 9's had their Tameside League presentation night last night 8th June and as well as both teams doing the double, they also picked up B division leading goal scorer (Harry Lomas) and a fantastic B Division Player of the year (Jack Carr). Both outstanding awards especially Jack's as it is voted by the opposition managers. Well done to all you Under 9's you have been fantastic all season and well done to Jack and Harry who must be delighted with their special awards. Final credit go to the first class management team that look after these lads. It is no accident that the team is well run and well organised - the success is a balance of great kids and great management - well done to all of you. ENHUA ZHANG
04/06/2010
We have had some fantastic stories at Dynamos over the years but this one takes some beating. An absolutely fantastic guy has been training with our First Team and Reserves for the last three weeks. He is a student over here from China and is coming along to training with our own Jake (Shakey) Shannon to stay fit and play football while he is here. His name is Enhua Zhang and he has 62 caps for his country, China and played in the 2002 world cup against teams like Brazil. He is a great bloke and so friendly with all the lads and coaches and has a great attitude to the game. Obviously he is a great player too. He is pictured here with some of the lads after training on Thursday night.

Michael Keeps on Running
16/05/2010
Failsworth Dynamos is going through some major change but one thing that is rock solid and consistent is our U12's player Michael Wetton. For the third year running, Michael ran the BUPA run in memory of Matty Dalton and for the Matty D fund on Saturday 15th May at the City of Manchester Stadium. Michael beat last years time by 13 seconds in a very competitive race around the stadium and the running track watched by his mum and dad and Chairman, Leo Turner who said afterwards how proud he and the club was of Michael who has consistently shown he is a credit to the club and his mum and dad with this fitting tribute to Matty. You can still sponsor Michael by looking on our guestbook page where his mum Karen tells you how to get in touch. Karen and Ben Lawson run today in the adult BUPA run in Manchester also for the Matty D Fund - Good luck guys.

Under 10's Girls Ending Season Strong
09/05/2010
Our Under 10's girls team lead by Vinnie Finigan and Zack Grimes are ending the season really strong and after only one season together are already looking forward to the 2010/2011 season when they believe they will mount a challenge to the already experienced teams in the Oldham Girls League run at Chapel Lane every Saturday morning. Managers Vinnie and Zack say that these girls are the best passing team in the league and cant wait for next season to start. Having watched the girls play that is easy to believe as they are little stars in the making.

Girls Football Is Here to Stay
02/05/2010
The club pays tribute this week to the resurgence of Girls football at Failsworth Dynamos. Having watched our U10s and U12s this weekend at Chapel Road in the Oldham Girls Football League, Chairman Leo Turner was so impressed with the standard of football being played by these relatively new teams who have only been put together this season. Managers Vinnie Finigan and Zack Grimes have got the Under 10's passing the ball brilliantly and dancing round teams with their fantastic team work whereas Julie Sparks and Melissa Baine's U12's are playing fast and very powerful football with an awesome amount of ability for a young girls team. Both teams won convincingly in their end of season games and the future is looking very rosy for girls football at Failsworth Dynamos - Well done girls to all of you - we are proud to have girls football back at Dynamos and something tells us that 2010/ 2011 season is going to be a very spectacular season for girls football here at the club.

Jacob King, pictured above, played his 21st game for dynamos on Saturday and scored six goals in Dynamos U8s 8 - 0 victory. That takes his total to 52 goals in 21 games. We are sure you will agree that this is an astounding return for an 8 year old! He has proved to be just what Tim Joyce's lads needed in their team which already had great players all over the pitch. He has shown a natural ability to finish and has listened to the coaches and already improved his all round game. He has fitted in really well to this great set of lads and most of all appreciates that without their hard work he would not score the goals he has for the team. Well done Jacob and well done Under 8's.

Gary's Gala Dinner Does It Again
28/03/2010
Failsworth Dynamos fifth Gala Dinner organised and headed up by Vice Chairman Gary Henderson did it again at the City of Manchester Stadium last night. The evening started with all guests being visited at their tables and having photos taken with Man City stars Shay Given and Pablo Zabaleta. Then after a superb dinner, the guests were entertained by the tribute band that is taking the UK by storm 'Fake That'. The lads were absolutely fantastic and created a brilliant atmosphere particularly amongst the ladies in the audience. Gary and family then ran a high quality auction of signed shirts and photographs which included Wayne Rooney, Carlos Tevez and Nobby Stiles. The whole evening raised thousands of pounds for Failsworth Dynamos and has yet again gone down as Gary's best evening ever. Pictured above the week before the dinner Gary has managed to go one better each year with his dinners and this year was no exception. Well done Gaz - Outstanding yet again. A huge thank you must go to all who attended and supported the evening particularly our sponsors and also to Gary's pals Shay and Pablo for spending so much time meeting all the guests.

Ton up Joe!
20/03/2010
Under 9s player Joe Doran has now joined a select band of Failsworth Dynamos players to achieve 100 league goals. Joe's 100th goal for the club was his first in a hat-trick against Chadderton Juniors on March 20th. Joe's manager Tony Jordan said "Joe's a skilful player with a great first touch. He's got pace and is a quality finisher. Equally importantly though, he's a smashing lad and an absolute pleasure to coach. I'm really looking forward to his next hundred as a Dynamo, something I'm sure he can manage"
Well done Joe

Under 10's Semi Final Success
10/03/2010
Tony Tapper and John Cooper's Under 10's stormed through to the Tameside Cup Final this evening in a wonderful semi final v Chaddy End U10's. Both sides displayed quality football well beyond their years and all the goals in this 3-1 victory were of the highest order. The match played at Failsworth Soccer Centre kicked off at 5.30pm and both sides were clearly going for it. Dynamos opened the scoring after a screamer from Tom Wilson hit the bar and Kane Kelly followed in to finish. Sam Brooks then made it 2-0 after half time before Chaddy End had their best spell and made it 2-1 with a very cool finish. It was left to Sam Brooks to then finish a slick move with a blistering shot into the bottom corner to make it 3-1 and see Tapps and Coops team into the final. Pictured above is the whole squad who were all a credit to the club both in their play and attitude.

Matt's Under 15's IN Big Cup Final Win
06/03/2010
The first Dynamos eleven a side Silverware of the season has gone to Matt James's Under 15's side in a magnificent win over major rivals White Moss. The lads won 2-1 in a hard fought game at Ashton United's Hurst Cross Ground after a delayed kick off by over an hour. Mike (Bez) Berrisford and Louis scored two brilliant goals either side of half time with White Moss only able to grab a consolation goal in the last minute. The whole side played absolutely fantastic and this was a massively pleasing win for the lads, Matt and Michelle, the parents and indeed the whole club. Well done lads.

Sixes Knock em for Six
23/02/2010
Well here they are, and boy are they ready to take the football world by storm. These are Dynamos Under 6's who will start playing matches in September this year at Under 7's. They have been together for almost a year now and if training this Tuesday was anything to go by, they are so ready to play their first games. The standard of football these boys play is incredible for their age and we are in for a real treat in September. The children are pictured here with their coaches Ian Kelly, Ryan Boardman and Scott Turner who have put great effort in over the last few months to get the kids ready for next season. Very soon they will receive their new Dynamos kit and watch out for another proud picture then. In the meantime well done kids and keep up the good work.

23/02/2010
Our Under 6's proudly paraded around Boundary Park at the last Oldham Athletic home game. Accompanied by coaches Ian Kelly and Scott Turner, the children proudly donned Dynamos shirts and carried the Soccer School flag around the ground in front of the home crowd who gave them a warm welcome. Well done kids - you did us proud. Watch out for these teams as they prepare for the 2010/2011 season and their first official playing season with Dynamos.

THE FUTURE - OUR NEWEST RECRUITS
23/02/2010
Pictured above are our newest recruits to the club, our current U5's. This smashing little troop has been put together over the last few months and have been braving all weathers to attend the U5's soccer school on Monday evenings at the Failsworth Soccer Centre. A massive thanks has to go to Ian Kelly, Tony Jordan, Tony Tapper, Steve Prince and any other of our coaches who have been coaching the children and have begun to put together this squad for the future. Watch out for news of a Race Night coming up to help raise some funds to kit the kids out in the kits they deserve and to make them proper little Dynamos. In the meantime, well done kids and we hope you have a really happy time with the club in the years to come.

Lewis The U7's Cat
14/02/2010
Lewis Dawson also known as “the cat” achieved his own personal milestone today claiming his 30th clean sheet for Dynamos, In an action packed game that saw Dynamos U7s A beat Moston Valley 6-0. He was called into action on a number of occasions but Moston, despite their efforts couldnt beat the young Dynamos Number 1. Lewis attends Zack Grimes keeper training on a Thursday at the soccer centre and has progressed to be a future star thanks to Zack. He has a natural gift of enthusiasm and he is fearless as well as bringing in his calmness to the game said Zack. Matt Ross manager of u7’s also said, his game has improved overall and it is certainly comforting to know that behind your defence is someone like Lewis. His attitude and manner is second to none, with his twin brother in front of him at Centre Half, they are a team in themselves. He truly is number 1 . Well done Lewis. Both Matty and the club are proud of you.

KALUM AND JACOB OF OUR UNDER 8'S
07/02/2010
Kalum Ward was only two months too old to play for our Under 7's and had to move to our Under 8's at the start of the season when Tim Joyce's team took him in. Tim says he has done brilliantly and scored one of the best goals of the season on his second game. Unfortunately Kalum broke his arm playing football at school and has been out of action for a while but is back playing now which is great news. Recent signing Jacob King continues his scoring exploits with three hat tricks for the U8's already since joining from Boundary Park.He made a great start scoring 15 in 11 games and has now scored 31 goals for Dynamos. Both boys are pictured above and are congratulated on their efforts by the club.

LEWIS HITS THE 50 MARK
07/02/2010
Lewis Cain of our Under 8's today scored his 50th, 51st and 52nd goal for Dynamos in only his 50th game for the club. Thats a fantastic ratio for the youngster who knocked in a hat trick today in his teams 8-1 win to notch up his half century. On behalf of the club - well done Lewis.

EVANS ABOVE STANDARD
07/02/2010
The club this week pays tribute to Under thirteens manager and Charter Standard Officer for Dynamos, Phil Evans. Phil has been working tirelessly for months on the clubs Community Charter Standard application to be sent very shortly to the Football Association for approval. The work that has gone into this has been tremendous and is all done behind the scenes where no one can see the fantastic effort being put in. The club wants to thank Phil and of course his family for their patience in the time he has given up to co-ordinate these efforts. Thanks too to Jamie Blood who has also played a major part in guiding the club towards this application for the standard. Watch out in the weeks ahead for news of how the club fares.

HUMAN SNOW PLOUGH DOES THE TRICK
24/01/2010
Well done and thank you to all of you who contributed to the massive effort to clear the snow from the soccer centre to get football back on in Failsworth sooner than it was anywhere else in the Oldham and Greater Manchester area. Dozens of people brought spades and wheelbarrows to add to the effort and help the soccer centre team to clear one 3G pitch to get training back on days before the snow actually thawed. Pictured here is just one of the teams who put in the effort.

UNDER 9'S B MAKE IT A DOUBLE TITLE WIN
23/01/2010
Dynamos Under 9s B made it a double title win this season for the Under 9's section of the club. After the Under 9's A clinched their A division title some weeks ago, the B lads had to wait 7 weeks for their final game due to the weather but finally ran out 3-0 winners v Uppermill today to clinch the B division title. What a tribute to the set up of our Under 9's who together with a fantastic bunch of kids are lead by a quality management team of Tony Jordan, Mike Carr, John Bentley and Pete Haughton. Watch out soon for a photo of our A team but for the moment here is the title winning pic of our U9s B team after they clinched it.

There 'SNOW Football Again
06/01/2010
Pictured above earlier today is Failsworth Pole showing it too has been attacked by the blizzards. Its great for snow ball fights, building Snowmen and going sledging buts is a no go for football at the moment as we see more snow in the area than we have seen for years. There has been no training for a while at the soccer centre which remains closed for a while and of course there is no chance for any matches to be played unless the snow and ice clears. Lets face it, if City and United cant play then who can. In the meantime, get your Dynamos woolly hats on (we have a few left for whoever wants one ) and enjoy what fun you can out there - BUT STAY SAFE WHATEVER YOU DO!

HAPPY CHRISTMAS
23/12/2009
To All Players, Managers, Coaches, Officials, Parents and Supporters of Failsworth Dynamos
What a year again. The club is bigger, better and more efficient than it has ever been in providing organised football for boys, girls, men and women in the local areas and beyond. Twenty Seven teams and getting on now for almost 400 players takes some organisation and we must thank all those people in the club who do their bit to making this the fantastic institution that it is. Having said all of that we have a long way to go to be where we want to be and that is a club that has its destiny in its own hands with its own first class facilities. Massive efforts are still ongoing in the background to make this happen and although we have not been able to update you much recently, there has been good reason for that and it is hoped that in the new year we will have something to tell you about what is going on and the tremendous work that has been done already. In the meantime, watch out also in the new year for a new initiative to be launched by the club called the 'Dynamos New Year Revolution' which will be driving us all to be healthier and fitter (should be ideal after all the turkey and chocolate). For now though, have a fantastic Christmas and a brilliant New Year and here's to 2010 which we know will be the best year ever for Failsworth Dynamos.

Unsung Heroes
12/11/2009
The club this week pays tribute to two of our committee members, Dave Shenton and John Bentley, who have been working tirelessly towards trying to get our players the facilities they deserve in the future. We are very lucky at Dynamos to have a handful of great pitches to play and train on at the Soccer Centre and the great facilities they can offer us but with over 25 teams at our club this is nowhere near enough and matchday and training facilities are getting thinner on the ground rather than increasing. Dave and John have been working away behind the scenes in securing another 12 months from the local council of being able to keep the changing rooms at Lord Lane from being demolished following an order last year to get rid of them. John as our new Facilities Manager and Dave as our Welfare Officer and Groundsman for Lord Lane attended a recent meeting of the council and submitted an application for some leaway for 12 months and got it. Thanks guys for all your hard work and you can rely on our support in the future from the club in striving to achieve the best results we can get for the players of this great club as we continue to aim for our own facilities.

08/11/2009
Friend of Failsworth Dynamos, local soccer coach, Kevyn Gibbons, invited a contingency of Dynamos to his function at the Royton Conservative Club on Sat 7th Nov to raise money in aid of Harley Slack who tragically lost his limbs to Meningitis recently. Pictured above with Kevyn (centre at the back) is the Dynamos crowd who supported the event and helped Kevyn raise a magnificent £1,000 to help young Harley. Well done Kevyn and congratulations to our U9's and Soccer School Coach, Tony Jordan, who celebrated his birthday at the event and parent, Pete Whitworth-Hilton who belted out Blur's Park Life on the Kareoke and kept us all entertained. Amazing Mason
08/11/2009
Mason Rowarth of Matt Ross's under 7's team reached a personal milestone on Saturday as he notched up his 30th goal for the club. In a scrappy game against Moston Brook, Dynamos carved out chance after chance to get Mason this goal. Brooklyn Ward and Alex Ravenscroft Scored Dynamos 1st and 2nd goals before Mason Took a quick fire chance on the edge of the box after some great work from Cameron Williams. Isaac Pyatt scored a fantastic individual goal to round off the game in style. Mason said after "I really had to work hard and all of the team wanted me to get this goal. I was glad i got to show off my vest thats said 30 goals on it". Matt said "It is a fitting tribute to a team that always puts in 100% effort and always fight for each other, not taking anything away from the superb performance but Mason deserved his goal, he threw what little body weight he has at everything, Well Done Pal, you Deserve it".

28/10/2009
Louis Bailey, a member of our Under 8's squad under Tim Joyce and Jon Cooper is off to The United States of America. All the best Lou from all at Dynamos and in particular Tim, Jon and the boys, Stay in touch via the Dynamos website and send us some photos soon. 8's Derby Thriller
28/10/2009
Our Under 8's A and B team fought out their first derby of the season in a five goal thriller last Saturday which saw the A team come out 3-2 winners but not before the B lads had dramatically pulled the game back to 2-2 after being 2-0 down. This was a fantastic game and a great spectacle for the big Dynamos crowd that had turned up to watch on a cold wet October morning and was a great credit to both sets of managers and coaches. Well done to all the players that took part, you did the club and your parents proud. Pictured above are both squads and managers / coaches on the day showing the fantastic relationship that exists between both teams.

Under 15's are back in business
11/10/2009
Its been a rollercoaster of a ride over the last few weeks for our Under 15's in the Tameside Sunday League Top Division and when they drew Wilmslow Sports in the Challenge Cup 1st Round they knew they were in for a tough game having been beaten by Wilmslow on the first day of the season away from home. With new signings Sam Rathbone (one of our original sons from Oldham Athletic), 'Koze' Irakoze and Jack Griffin back in the squad, the lads were fantastic and with a long range strike from Sam James and a late second half penalty from Danny Turner they progressed to the 2nd round with a 2-1 win. Great performances from Matty Green in goal and Shaun Freeman making run after run were the highlights in this great game that saw Dynamos Under 15's officially BACK. Well done lads.

Tribute To Billy Grogan
05/09/2009
This week, Failsworth Dynamos would like to dedicate part of its Website front page to the memory of local football legend Billy Grogan who sadly passed away last weekend. Billy was one of those people who give up time and energy to create the environment for young people to play football in our community. There isn’t anyone at Dynamos or in Failsworth who didn’t know Billy who in his later years was the Chairman of Failsworth West but had been involved in literally dozens of teams over many years. In fact most of Dynamos managers have actually played for Billy. Last weekend just before the release of thousands of balloons in memory of our own Matty Dalton, hundreds of Matty Dalton Tournament attendees which also included Failsworth West players paid tribute to Billy with a minute of respectful applause (pictured above). The club would like to offer their sincere condolences to Billy’s family and say that he was a local community hero that will not be forgotten and Dynamos will help to make sure that never happens.

Mattys Tribute 2009
31/08/2009
Yesterday 30th August 2009, saw the fourth annual balloon release in memory of Matthew 'Matty' Dalton who played for Failsworth Dynamos all of his young footballing life and we think all will agree that this was the best. With great respect, hundreds of tournament attendees gathered at the corner of Lord Lane playing fields as the club paid its special tribute to Matty and then scores of children gave the countdown to a fantastic release of thousands of balloons which then soared into the Failsworth air. Pictured above are Matty's parents Gary and Joanne just as the balloons were released. If you would like to see what Gary and Joanne say about the release go to our guestbook. Just before the tribute to Matty, there was a minute of emotional applause for Failsworth Footballing Great - Billy Grogan who very sadly passed away this weekend. The applause was intended to show a huge respect for Billy who had in one way or another been involved with just about everybody who had played football in Failsworth over many decades and contributed so much to the game.

All our lads were tremendous all day and fully played their part in an exciting tournament. The B Team just missed out on promotion to the Semis after finishing a close third in their group, while the A team lads went on to win the event after beating Roker Boys from Sunderland in the final. This after going seven games unbeaten without conceding a goal all morning. Well done to everyone involved.

Under 7's Magnificent Win
15/08/2009
Dynamos V Middleton Lads was always going to be a fiesty game, but for it to settle a championship this was totally different. Nerves and butterflies for the lads as they asked ‘do we still get our trophy if we dont win?’ Then Captain Jamie Dawson shouted back ‘we arent going to lose’ and sure enough it was our powerhouse of a captain who really bent it like Beckham. All I asked was for him to hit the target but he bent it around the wall into the top corner of the net leaving the keeper with no chance of getting to it and shouted to me ‘woohoo matt i told you i would score’ Half time came and the boys deserved their break. Dillon Murphy replaced Isaac Pyatt, Cameron Williams replaced Mason Rowarth who was absolutely superb in the first half throwing what little of his body weight around and making a nuisance of himself with middletons centre halves. Alex Ravenscroft's tackling and commitment to the cause on the left hand side made him our best player of the day and he came off to a round of applause fit for Cristiano Ronaldo. Dynamos saw off the game with a scrappy finish from Cailum Ward who was laid off by Brooklyn Ward. Jaden O'Neill's Tackling and positioning when he came on put the game to bed as the opposition couldn’t get past his big presence. Lewis Dawson did’nt have much to do but when he was called into action in a one on one situation he came off the best. Final score and lots of celebrations 2-0. Man of the match Alex Ravenscroft. I was So proud of the boys today/ They put everything into practice and have promised another trophy soon. Thanks to all for their support for the lads. Matt Ross – Proud Manager – Dynamos Under 7’s

Eye of Kye
12/08/2009
Our Under 12's took part in the 11-a-side Roach Dynamos Tournament at weekend and got knocked out in the semi finals after a injury filled day. Kye Politt also nearly got 'Knocked Out' when he received this Black Eye after a clash of heads which resulted in him visiting hospital for a check up. Being a true Dynamo, Kye returned to the Tournament after his check up and asked manager Wayne Kennedy Jnr if he could go back on and get stuck back in. What a hero. All the best Kye you're a star mate. Kye is pictured above at Monday nights forum held by Oldham Athletic where he supported his beloved Dynamos in their debate with Oldham Athletic sporting his classic 'Shiner'

Under 9's Tournament Win
08/08/2009
Our Under 9's for the 2009/2010 season are in great shape. Both A and B teams reached the final of the Failsworth Soccer Centre Mini Soccer Tournament this weekend and shared the spoils literally with a great 1-1 draw. Both teams shared the trophies and posed for the picture above in another hugely successful day for this set of lads. Coach Tony Jordan said that the lads played some great stuff and it was a perfect end to the tournament to see them both battling it out in the final. The club cant wait to see what kind of a season this squad is in for in their first proper competitive year in Football. Well done to the boys and good luck for the new season.

Charter Standard Status
02/08/2009
Dynamos are in hot pursuit of improving its Charter Standard status from a basic Charter Standard Club to a Community Charter Standard Club. Dynamos have had most of the qualities of a Community club for some years but the work involved to document this and bring it all together into a clear plan is incredible and the person who has achieved this is our Charter Standard Co-ordinator Phil Evans. Phil has worked tirelessly over the last few months in order to put a comprehensive plan to the Football Association for approval and is now possibly only weeks away from achieving this massive objectove for the club. Thanks must also go to Jamie Blood for his ongoing advice in his new role for Oldham Athletic and to Andy Basterfield at Manchester County Football Association for his ongoing support. Thanks to Phil we hope to be able to give you news of the clubs success in this area in the next few weeks.

Under 9s Futsal Visit
01/08/2009
A group of next season's Dynamos U9s spent an afternoon as guests of the Manchester Futsal team recently at one of their home games. Our lads were invited along to watch the match from a special pitch side position at The Sugden Sports Centre, as Manchester went on to beat visiting opponents Sheffield & Hallam in an all action and very exciting encounter by three goals to one. As well as local lads, the Manchester Futsal team also includes players from Brazil, Spain, Portugal, Russia and even Kyrgyzstan. The football provided by both teams was fast and furious, with a high skill level on display and made for an exciting spectacle for the young Dynamos players to experience. A great trip was had by all our boys (pictured above), who as always behaved impeccably throughout, and the club made a few more friends within the football community whilst at the same time gaining themselves a few new fans among the Manchester team. Under 15's Tournament Win
18/07/2009
The clubs Under 15's Sunday team won their second tournament of the summer when they beat hosts Brendan Bees 1-0 in the final of their own tournament last Sunday 12th July. Both Dynamos teams had great days with our other team remaining unbeaten and very unlucky not to make the semi finals on goal difference. The team that won it though stormed through to the semis and played brilliantly in the final to show what a force they will be this coming season. The lads now come together again as an 11-a-side team to play in the international Umbro Tournament on the 29th, 30th, 31st July and 1st August down at the University pitches. Here are the lads with their tournament trophies. For those of you with a nervous disposition be careful looking at the picture, Under 15's lads think it is against the law to smile even if youve won a cup.

Under 7's Launch New Dynamos Colours
18/07/2009
The clubs Under 7's lead by Matt Ross had a busy day today, Saturday 18th July. This morning at around 9.45am they received their first Dynamos kit. Not only their first kit but the first in the new club colours for any team in the club. Sponsored by Matty D, the kit was presented to them by Gary Dalton and every single player thanked Gary personally before they ran out to show what great prospects they are for the future by playing a very high standard of U7's football against Boundary Park A and B. Lots of goals for Dynamos and none conceded they then went on to Lord Lane and boarded the club float for the parade around Failsworth and did the club proud. Here they are in the new kit which will have every Dynamos player at the club wanting one. Well done to Matt and the lads from all at the club.

Millie & Mia Can Play On
11/07/2009
How much good news can there be for Dynamos’ Millie Bradley and her team mate Mia Welsh? Lets start at the beginning. First of all this picture shows an emotional farewell for Millie and Mia as they are pictured with Managers Wayne Kennedy and Ben Lawson as they leave the Under 11s as FA rules say that they cannot continue to play mixed football going into the Under 12’s. Then Millie picks up the Player of the Year for the Tameside Saturday League which is a predominantly boys league. Then Millie picks up the prestigious Matty Dalton award at the Dynamos Presentation Night in an another emotional evening. Then to cap it all off, after continued campaigning from Dynamos, the news came through this week that both Millie and Mia can continue for at least one more year with their team as The Manchester Football Association agree to allow them both to play Under 12s football in the 2009/ 2010 season with Failsworth Dynamos after Dynamos requests had been granted by the Football Association in London. This follows an extended trial of mixed football up to U14’s level by the association in Wales. Great news for Millie and Mia and great news for Dynamos for two of their great female players. Watch out for a feature about the girls and women’s football in the next couple of weeks.

Jamie Finally Gets His Award
11/07/2009
Here is the photo of Jamie Blood (manager of our Under 11’s ) picking up his Charter Standard Coach of The Year award from Frank Hannah of the Manchester County Football Association. The award recognises Jamie’s input across the last year not only to Failsworth Dynamos but to the Failsworth community in general, running many initiatives at the Failsworth Soccer Centre together with Lee Folkard including the ground breaking ‘Friday Night Project’ where Jamie and his colleagues created a Friday night league that has not only successfully kept lots of teenagers off the streets on a key night of the week but created a fun league of mixed age groups and clubs that the kids absolutely love. Jamie has now moved on into a new role at Oldham Athletic and we can only expect to see more and more exciting initiatives from this young and up and coming influence in football. I am sure his team and all at Dynamos would join me in saying ‘Well Done Jamie’.

Zak is The Face of Manchester
11/07/2009
Our very own Zak Lees of our Open Age Sunday team is the M.E.N.’s Face of Manchester 2009. Zak shared the honour with Barrister Sophie Robinson as the judges were unable to pick an outright winner from them both so they decided to make it a double. Zak (20) and Sophie (24), beat hundreds of hopefuls from across Greater Manchester. The judges - including celebrity hair stylist Nicky Clarke, John Lewis regional managing director Maggie Porteous and Nemesis model booker Sam Coulson - were unable to choose one ahead of the other. Zak, described by the M.E.N. as a ‘Vernon Kay lookalike from Failsworth’ was entered for the competition by his mum Kath. He said: "I'm absolutely ecstatic’ Hosted by Manchester model Alex Leigh, the catwalk finale at John Lewis in the Trafford Centre saw eleven finalists battling it out. The two winners landed a model contract with Nemesis, a makeover with Nicky Clarke, a chance to be the face of Manchester-based Duty Free Jeans - and a series of photo shoots in the M.E.N. Nice one Zak - who just happens to also be a great footballer for Dynamos.

New Role For Jamie
05/06/2009
The club would like to wish one of its sons all the very best in his new job. Jamie Blood, player for over 10 years and manager of our U10's A team has moved on from his role in The Failsworth Soccer Centre and has now become Development Co-ordinator for Oldham Athletic Football Club within their Community Trust. His role will evolve heavily around local clubs and more specifically charter standard clubs. His aims are to build a close relationship with Oldham Athletic for all the local clubs including his old club of Failsworth Dynamos. I am sure that you will all join me in wishing Jamie all the very best for the future in his new role. STOP PRESS - Saturday 6th June and we have just been notified that Jamie has been selected for the Charter Standard Coach of The Year award from the Manchester FA for 2009 and will receive the award this week. 'Ankie' Saying Goodbye
24/05/2009
During the course of this week, the club will be paying tribute to a handful of managers / coaches who will be leaving the club in the coming weeks. With any club, every year sees changes in personnel as personal situations amd committments change and people need sometimes to take a back seat from their involvement. One such change is our good pal Steve Hankinson. Steve has been heavily involved at Dynamos for the last four years and has managed the present U13's team since they were 9 and 10 years old. He has always played a major part in club events as too have his whole family, wife Jo, eldest son Fraser (Assistant Manager) and youngest son Joe (Goalkeeper) helping out at tournaments and on presentation evenings. Steve has always gone the extra mile with his team too not just running them as a football team but always offering them something extra and doing things for them across the year. Recently, we were all delighted to hear that Joe had been taken on by Rochdale but this has meant that Steve had to plan for next year supporting Joe properly and with work committments can't be with the team. Not to worry though the club is rallying round and we hope to find someone soon to take the team on. For the moment though we could like to thank Steve, Jo, Fraser and Joe for all their efforts for the lads and wish Joe all the very best in his future career. They won't be going far though as we hope to still see them at future events as they have been great supporters of the club. All the best Steve from all at Dynamos.

Mighty Joe Rathbone
21/05/2009
We've seen some great players at Failsworth Dynamos over the years but none better than young Joe Rathbone who is a member of our current Under 10's squad run by Jamie Blood and Neil Artus. Joe played his last game for Dynamos on Saturday as he now signs for Oldham Athletic permanently and joins their ranks next season. He will be a sad loss for the club and we know that Jamie, Neil and all his team mates will miss him terribly but we all celebrate this brilliant young lads success and the great performances he has given his team for the last five years since he joined the club following in the footsteps of his brothers Sam and Ben who have also come through the ranks at Dynamos to go on to sign for Oldham. Maybe one day we could experience the fantastic sight of three brothers all ex Dynamos playing for Oldham Athletic. How great would that be? Anyway best of luck to Joe. Go get em mate (see also a lovely tribute from the Hollister family on the guestbook page and have a look in the gallery above where as a tribute to Joe we are downloading a large photo of the famous Joe and team mates picture when they dived in the mud).

Under 16's Cup Triumph
20/05/2009
In terrible conditions, the club's Under 16's ended the season by winning the Rocdale and Oldham U16's League Cup in tremendous style and a superb 2-1 win at Castleton Gabriels. Dave Merrington's lads never looked in any trouble as they played some fantastic football in heavy rain and what ended up a mudbath of a pitch. Many congratulations go to this side who have endured a tough season but have come up with the goods yet again. Well done lads and well done also to Dave Merrington and Geraldine Sidlow who have been tremendously supportive and hardworking for this team.

Ben & Karen's Fantastic 10K BUPA Run
17/05/2009
We all take our hats off to U11's Coach Ben Lawson and U11's Mum, Karen Wetton who today in torrential rain took on the 10K Bupa run through the streets of Manchester and Salford and came home triumphant. This was a fantastic achievement by these two great people who ventured into the unknown and volunteered to run this event in aid of the Matty D fund. Both Ben and Karen, pictured here proudly bearing their Matty D shirts after finishing in central Manchester with Karen's son Michael, both told of the encouragement they received throughout the run from bystanders shouting 'Come on Matty D' which they both said kept them going and made them even more determined to get to the finish line. Well done to both Ben and Karen who received a huge personal thanks from Gary and Joanne Dalton who were on the scene today with Chairman Leo Turner in Manchester city centre to congratulate them both on their magnificent achievement after they had finished.

Hat Trick Of BUPA Runs For Michael
16/05/2009
Dynamos U11, Michael Wetton, running in aid of the Matty D Fund, today completed a hat trick of BUPA runs when he completed the 2.5K BUPA race at the City of Manchester Stadium. To cap off a great day for Michael and his family, at the finish line he bumped into Dynamos team mate Michael (Psycho) Sidebottom who had also just completed the run. Both Michael's pictured here at the finish line have done the club proud in a first class event that Dynamos are now considering entering all their players under the age of 14 into next year. Also spotted on the run were U13's player Kane Wallwork and former Under 11's player Rabanne Murray. Well done to all the lads and well done on the hat trick for Michael. Now to tomorrow when U11's Assistant Manager Ben Lawson and Michael's Mum Karen Wetton take on the 10K BUPA race in City centre Manchester. Good luck to you both, we are proud of you already just for entering.

26/04/2009
What a fantastic day for our Under 11's who stormed through to win the Avros 11 -a-side Tournament today (Sunday 26th April) after eight matches and some solid performances. Many congratulations go to Wayne Kennedy Jnr and Ben Lawson and the kids who are pictured above with their trophies. I can only echo Charlie's Dad's comments on the guestbook about this squad who are so typical of the Dynamos ethos of 110% effort but with a great team spirit. Well done Kids you have done Wayne, Ben and your parents proud this season.

Michael Does It For Matty Again
04/04/2009
Michael Wetton is running again in the Greater Manchester Junior Run on Saturday 16th May. This time though he is being doubly supported by his manager Ben Lawson and his Mum Karen Wetton who are also running in the Greater Manchester 10K Run the day after on Sunday 17th May. All three of them are doing it in memory of Matty Dalton for the Matty D fund and the club would like to wish them all the very best in their preparations and on the day itself. This is a wonderful gesture from our Under 11's player, manager and parent and if you would like to sponsor them, please download the sponsorship form on our downloads page. Best of Luck Michael, Karen and Ben you are all a credit to the club.

Fourth Gala Dinner Success
22/03/2009
Dynamos would like to pay tribute to Gary Henderson and his entire family for the wonderful Gala Dinner held at the City of Manchester Stadium on Saturday. If anyone needed any further evidence that Dynamos is a family orientated club then this was a perfect example as the entire Henderson family was involved in making this evening a massive success. Gary lead from the front in organising the whole event with support from wife Sue, Sister in Law Jane, Sister and Brother In law Karen and Bernard and Daughters Olivia and Claudia along with their friends keeping all the events of the evening moving along. A first class meal was accompanied by two great singers Sherry Dale and Victor Michaels (who took the evening by strom with his classical style) and a very funny comedian Denny Waters. All of this was littered in between with some very well organised fund raising events. Gary even found time to make sure that main sponsor John Wilson of Quoteline Direct was presented with a framed Dynamos / Quoteline shirt to thank him for his continued support of the club. The club would like to thank Gary and all his family for this wonderful effort on behalf of the children and adult players of Failsworth Dynamos. Well done Gaz!
