The first Dynamos eleven a side Silverware of the season has gone to Matt James's Under 15's side in a magnificent win over major rivals White Moss. The lads won 2-1 in a hard fought game at Ashton United's Hurst Cross Ground after a delayed kick off by over an hour. Mike (Bez) Berrisford and Louis scored two brilliant goals either side of half time with White Moss only able to grab a consolation goal in the last minute. The whole side played absolutely fantastic and this was a massively pleasing win for the lads, Matt and Michelle, the parents and indeed the whole club. Well done lads.

Well here they are, and boy are they ready to take the football world by storm. These are Dynamos Under 6's who will start playing matches in September this year at Under 7's. They have been together for almost a year now and if training this Tuesday was anything to go by, they are so ready to play their first games. The standard of football these boys play is incredible for their age and we are in for a real treat in September. The children are pictured here with their coaches Ian Kelly, Ryan Boardman and Scott Turner who have put great effort in over the last few months to get the kids ready for next season. Very soon they will receive their new Dynamos kit and watch out for another proud picture then. In the meantime well done kids and keep up the good work.

Our Under 6's proudly paraded around Boundary Park at the last Oldham Athletic home game. Accompanied by coaches Ian Kelly and Scott Turner, the children proudly donned Dynamos shirts and carried the Soccer School flag around the ground in front of the home crowd who gave them a warm welcome. Well done kids - you did us proud. Watch out for these teams as they prepare for the 2010/2011 season and their first official playing season with Dynamos.

Pictured above are our newest recruits to the club, our current U5's. This smashing little troop has been put together over the last few  months and have been braving all weathers to attend the U5's soccer school on Monday evenings at the Failsworth Soccer Centre. A massive thanks has to go to Ian Kelly, Tony Jordan, Tony Tapper, Steve Prince and any other of our coaches who have been coaching the children and have begun to put together this squad for the future. Watch out for news of a Race Night coming up to help raise some funds to kit the kids out in the kits they deserve and to make them proper little Dynamos. In the meantime, well done kids and we hope you have a really happy time with the club in the years to come.

Lewis Dawson also known as “the cat” achieved his own personal milestone today claiming his 30^th clean sheet for Dynamos, In an action packed game that saw Dynamos U7s A beat Moston Valley 6-0. He was called into action on a number of occasions but Moston, despite their efforts couldnt  beat the young Dynamos Number 1.  Lewis attends Zack Grimes keeper training on a Thursday at the soccer centre and has progressed to be a future star thanks to Zack. He has a natural gift of enthusiasm and he is fearless as well as bringing in his calmness to the game said Zack. Matt Ross manager of u7’s also said, his game has improved overall and it is certainly comforting to know that behind your defence is someone like Lewis. His attitude and manner is second to none, with his twin brother in front of him at Centre Half,  they are a team in themselves. He truly is number 1 . Well done Lewis. Both Matty and the club are proud of you.

Lewis Cain of our Under 8's today scored his 50th, 51st and 52nd goal for Dynamos in only his 50th game for the club. Thats a fantastic ratio for the youngster who knocked in a hat trick today in his teams 8-1 win to notch up his half century. On behalf of the club - well done Lewis.

The club this week pays tribute to Under thirteens manager and Charter Standard Officer for Dynamos, Phil Evans. Phil has been working tirelessly for months on the clubs Community Charter Standard application to be sent very shortly to the Football Association for approval. The work that has gone into this has been tremendous and is all done behind the scenes where no one can see the fantastic effort being put in. The club wants to thank Phil and of course his family for their patience in the time he has given up to co-ordinate these efforts. Thanks too to Jamie Blood who has also played a major part in guiding the club towards this application for the standard. Watch out in the weeks ahead for news of how the club fares.

Well done and thank you to all of you who contributed to the massive effort to clear the snow from the soccer centre to get football back on in Failsworth sooner than it was anywhere else in the Oldham and Greater Manchester area. Dozens of people brought spades and wheelbarrows to add to the effort and help the soccer centre team to clear one 3G pitch to get training back on days before the snow actually thawed. Pictured here is just one of the teams who put in the effort.

Gary Henderson has announced the date for his fifth Dynamos Gala Dinner. The event will take place at the City of Manchester Stadium on Saturday 27th March. Tickets will be competitively priced at £32.50 per head for an evening of first class food and entertainment. If past years are anything to go by this is a night you must not miss in the Dynamos calendar. Gary has always put on a fantastic fund raising evening and this years will be no exception. Dynamos Under 9s B made it a double title win this season for the Under 9's section of the club. After the Under 9's A clinched their A division title some weeks ago, the B lads had to wait 7 weeks for their final game due to the weather but finally ran out 3-0 winners v Uppermill today to clinch the B division title. What a tribute to the set up of our Under 9's who together with a fantastic bunch of kids are lead by a quality management team of Tony Jordan, Mike Carr, John Bentley and Pete Haughton. Watch out soon for a photo of our A team but for the moment here is the title winning pic of our U9s B team after they clinched it.

Pictured above earlier today is Failsworth Pole showing it too has been attacked by the blizzards. Its great for snow ball fights, building Snowmen and going sledging buts is a no go for football at the moment as we see more snow in the area than we have seen for years. There has been no training for a while at the soccer centre which remains closed for a while and of course there is no chance for any matches to be played unless the snow and ice clears. Lets face it, if City and United cant play then who can. In the meantime, get your Dynamos woolly hats on (we have a few left for whoever wants one ) and enjoy what fun you can out there - BUT STAY SAFE WHATEVER YOU DO!

Pictured above are two of our current Under 10's players, Callum Millward (Phil Millward's U10's) and Elliott Hogan (Tony Tapper's U10's) after their kickboxing clash on 28th November. The two Dynamos were selected to compete with one another at their kickboxing school and fought out a hard earned draw on the night with a very even contest. Well done to both lads who are both tough players on the football pitch too.

Pictured above is Gary Dalton On Sunday morning 22nd November presenting the winning cheque for £100 to Michael Rawson (owner of the winning balloon ticket in the Matty D Balloon Race 2009) and Charlie Whitfield from Ian Kelly's Dynamos U6's. Michael is Charlie's godfather. Second place went to Val Seale and her neighbour Tim shared who shared £75 and third place Sophie Flan won £50 which she generously donated back to Matty's Fund. The club this week pays tribute to two of our committee members, Dave Shenton and John Bentley, who have been working tirelessly towards trying to get our players the facilities they deserve in the future. We are very lucky at Dynamos to have a handful of great pitches to play and train on at the Soccer Centre and the great facilities they can offer us but with over 25 teams at our club this is nowhere near enough and  matchday and training facilities are getting thinner on the ground rather than increasing. Dave and John have been working away behind the scenes in securing another 12 months from the local council of being able to keep the changing rooms at Lord Lane from being demolished following an order last year to get rid of them. John as our new Facilities Manager and Dave as our Welfare Officer and Groundsman for Lord Lane attended a recent meeting of the council and submitted an application for some leaway for 12 months and got it. Thanks guys for all your hard work and you can rely on our support in the future from the club in striving to achieve the best results we can get for the players of this great club as we continue to aim for our own facilities.

Friend of Failsworth Dynamos, local soccer coach, Kevyn Gibbons, invited a contingency of Dynamos to his function at the Royton Conservative Club on Sat 7th Nov to raise money in aid of Harley Slack who tragically lost his limbs to Meningitis recently. Pictured above with Kevyn (centre at the back) is the Dynamos crowd who supported the event and helped Kevyn raise a magnificent £1,000 to help young Harley. Well done Kevyn and congratulations to our U9's and Soccer School Coach, Tony Jordan, who celebrated his birthday at the event and parent, Pete Whitworth-Hilton who belted out Blur's Park Life on the Kareoke and kept us all entertained. Thanks to you all for supporting this worthwhile event.

Mason Rowarth of Matt Ross's under 7's team reached a personal milestone on Saturday as he notched up his 30th goal for the club. In a scrappy game against Moston Brook, Dynamos carved out chance after chance to get Mason this goal. Brooklyn Ward and Alex Ravenscroft Scored Dynamos 1st and 2nd goals before Mason Took a quick fire chance on the edge of the box after some great work from Cameron Williams. Isaac Pyatt scored a fantastic individual goal to round off the game in style. Mason said after "I really had to work hard and all of the team wanted me to get this goal. I was glad i got to show off my vest thats said 30 goals on it". Matt said "It is a fitting tribute to a team that always puts in 100% effort and always fight for each other, not taking anything away from the superb performance but Mason deserved his goal, he threw what little body weight he has at everything, Well Done Pal, you Deserve it".

Louis Bailey, a member of our Under 8's squad under Tim Joyce and Jon Cooper is off to The United States of America. Louis and his family (mum Cath and dad Pete) are going to Kalamazoo in Michigan, about 1 hour from Chicago. They will be there on a two year trip for his parents work. Chicago Fire are the MLS soccer team - Chicago Bears are the NFL team and Chicago Cubs are the baseball team. Lou thinks he'll be a good running back! Lou has been with Dynamos from the start of this age group and will be sorely missed as he is a strong running left sided midfielder and a great lad. All the best Lou from all at Dynamos and in particular Tim, Jon and the boys, Stay in touch via the Dynamos website and send us some photos soon. Our Under 8's A and B team fought out their first derby of the season in a five goal thriller last Saturday which saw the A team come out 3-2 winners but not before the B lads had  dramatically pulled the game back to 2-2 after being 2-0 down. This was a fantastic game and a great spectacle for the big Dynamos crowd that had turned up to watch on a cold wet October morning and was a great credit to both sets of managers and coaches. Well done to all the players that took part, you did the club and your parents proud. Our Failsworth Dynamo's Ladies completed the first annual Failsworth  Charity Pub Run" last Friday night with Wayne Kennedy junior, Jimmy Longdin  and Simon Cooper being body guards as well as coaches! The Ladies team collected an amazing £500  and were also offered 3 donations for sponsorship of kit and training clothing from local people who own businesses in Failsworth. Many pubs put on free drinks for the girls (who were old enough to drink by the way) and a big thanks goes out to the following pubs. The Windmill who also donated £500 for a new kit. Chad Joinery from the Windmill who also has pledged a large donation. The 8 Bells Staff, The Willow Tavern Staff   Huge Respect, Baldy Bobs Staff, The Dutch Birds Staff, Bar Red, The SUN INN.......Massive thank you, The Anglers, The Pack Horse, The Church Inn.... (Have offered to donate a big sum for sponsorship), The Royal Oak....Massive Thank You, Debbie at The Crown And Cushion, All the staff at The Lock Bar, The Landlady at The Last Orders, The Mare and Foal and last but not least all the public of Failsworth for throwing money in the bucket. The ladies have also collected £200 on a name card and the winner's name goes on their kit. There are still 60 names left at £10 a go if anyone is interested contact Kerry Fannon (via our comittee on the contacts tab above).

The club are proud to announce that we can now offer a counselling service for all our members. Fran Egan, our most senior coach, has now become qualified to administer counselling to all our players or parents (on player issues). Its been a rollercoaster of a ride over the last few weeks for our Under 15's in the Tameside Sunday League Top Division and when they drew Wilmslow Sports in the Challenge Cup 1st Round they knew they were in for a tough game having been beaten by Wilmslow on the first day of the season away from home. With new signings Sam Rathbone (one of our original sons from Oldham Athletic), 'Koze' Irakoze and Jack Griffin back in the squad, the lads were fantastic and with a long range strike from Sam James and a late second half penalty from Danny Turner they progressed to the 2nd round with a 2-1 win. Great performances from Matty Green in goal and Shaun Freeman making run after run were the highlights in this great game that saw Dynamos Under 15's officially BACK. Well done lads.

The results are in from this year’s Balloon release for Matty and they are just as fantastic as previous years. This year they travelled to Italy, Germany, Austria and Holland aswell as parts of England such as Lincolnshire, Yorkshire and Humberside. This week, Failsworth Dynamos would like to dedicate part of its Website front page to the memory of local football legend Billy Grogan who sadly passed away last weekend. Billy was one of those people who give up time and energy to create the environment for young people to play football in our community. There isn’t anyone at Dynamos or in Failsworth who didn’t know Billy who in his later years was the Chairman of Failsworth West but had been involved in literally dozens of teams over many years. In fact most of Dynamos managers have actually played for Billy. Last weekend just before the release of thousands of balloons in memory of our own Matty Dalton,  hundreds of Matty Dalton Tournament attendees which also included Failsworth West players paid tribute to Billy with a minute of respectful applause (pictured above). The club would like to offer their sincere condolences to Billy’s family and say that he was a local community hero that will not be forgotten and Dynamos will help to make sure that never happens.

Yesterday 30th August 2009, saw the fourth annual balloon release in memory of Matthew 'Matty' Dalton who played for Failsworth Dynamos all of his young footballing life and we think all will agree that this was the best. With great respect, hundreds of tournament attendees gathered at the corner of Lord Lane playing fields as the club paid its special tribute to Matty and then scores of children gave the countdown to a fantastic release of thousands of balloons which then soared into the Failsworth air. Pictured above are Matty's parents Gary and Joanne just as the balloons were released. If you would like to see what Gary and Joanne say about the release go to our guestbook. Just before the tribute to Matty, there was a minute of emotional  applause for Failsworth Footballing Great - Billy Grogan who very sadly passed away this weekend. The applause was intended to show a huge respect for Billy who had in one way or another been involved with just about everybody who had played football in Failsworth over many decades and contributed so much to the game.

Is there no stopping our Under 9's? They have managed yet another successful day representing the club, this time in Yorkshire, where they competed in the Wortley FC Tournament in Leeds. All our lads were tremendous all day and fully played their part in an exciting tournament. The B Team just missed out on promotion to the Semis after finishing a close third in their group, while the A team lads went on to win the event after beating Roker Boys from Sunderland in the final. This after going seven games unbeaten without conceding a goal all morning. Well done to everyone involved.

Our Under 12's took part in the 11-a-side Roach Dynamos Tournament at weekend  and got knocked out in the semi finals after a injury filled day. Kye Politt also nearly got 'Knocked Out' when he received this Black Eye after a clash of heads which resulted in him visiting hospital for a check up. Being a true Dynamo, Kye returned to the Tournament after his check up and asked manager Wayne Kennedy Jnr if he could go back on and get stuck back in. What a hero. All the best Kye you're a star mate. Kye is pictured above at Monday nights forum held by Oldham Athletic where he supported his beloved Dynamos in their debate with Oldham Athletic sporting his classic 'Shiner'

Our Under 9's for the 2009/2010 season are in great shape. Both A and B teams reached the final of the Failsworth Soccer Centre Mini Soccer Tournament this weekend and shared the spoils literally with a great 1-1 draw. Both teams shared the trophies and posed for the picture above in another hugely successful day for this set of lads. Coach Tony Jordan said that the lads played some great stuff and it was a perfect end to the tournament to see them both battling it out in the final. The club cant wait to see what kind of a season this squad is in for in their first proper competitive year in Football. Well done to the boys and good luck for the new season.

Dynamos are in hot pursuit of improving its Charter Standard status from a basic Charter Standard Club to a Community Charter Standard Club. Dynamos have had most of the qualities of a Community club for some years but the work involved to document this and bring it all together into a clear plan is incredible and the person who has achieved this is our Charter Standard Co-ordinator Phil Evans. Phil has worked tirelessly over the last few months in order to put a comprehensive plan to the Football Association for approval and is now possibly only weeks away from achieving this massive objectove for the club. Thanks must also go to Jamie Blood for his ongoing advice in his new role for Oldham Athletic and to Andy Basterfield at Manchester County Football Association for his ongoing support. Thanks to Phil we hope to be able to give you news of the clubs success in this area in the next few weeks.

The clubs Under 15's Sunday team won their second tournament of the summer when they beat hosts Brendan Bees 1-0 in the final of their own tournament last Sunday 12th July. Both Dynamos teams had great days with our other team remaining unbeaten and very unlucky not to make the semi finals on goal difference. The team that won it though stormed through to the semis and played brilliantly in the final to show what a force they will be this coming season. The lads now come together again as an 11-a-side team to play in the international Umbro Tournament on the 29th, 30th, 31st July and 1st August down at the University pitches. Here are the lads with their tournament trophies. For those of you with a nervous disposition be careful looking at the picture, Under 15's lads think it is against the law to smile even if youve won a cup.

The clubs Under 7's lead by Matt Ross had a busy day today, Saturday 18th July. This morning at around 9.45am they received their first Dynamos kit. Not only their first kit but the first in the new club colours for any team in the club. Sponsored by Matty D, the kit was presented to them by Gary Dalton and every single player thanked Gary personally before they ran out to show what great prospects they are for the future by playing a very high standard of U7's football against Boundary Park A and B. Lots of goals for Dynamos and none conceded they then went on to Lord Lane and boarded the club float for the parade around Failsworth and did the club proud. Here they are in the new kit which will have every Dynamos player at the club wanting one. Well done to Matt and the lads from all at the club. 

An update on the developments relating to the club's bid to put facilities on the land on Broadway will be posted on this website in week commencing 27th July. Watch this space for more news when it is available.

How much good news can there be for Dynamos’ Millie Bradley and her team mate Mia Welsh?  Lets start at the beginning. First of all this picture shows an emotional farewell for Millie and Mia as they are pictured with Managers Wayne Kennedy and Ben Lawson as they leave the Under 11s as FA rules say that they cannot continue to play mixed football going into the Under 12’s. Then Millie picks up the Player of the Year for the Tameside Saturday League which is a predominantly boys league. Then Millie picks up the prestigious Matty Dalton award at the Dynamos Presentation Night in an another emotional evening. Then to cap it all off, after continued campaigning from Dynamos, the news came through this week that both Millie and Mia can continue for at least one more year with their team as The Manchester Football Association agree to allow them both to play Under 12s football in the 2009/ 2010 season with Failsworth Dynamos after Dynamos requests had been granted by the Football Association in London. This follows an extended trial of mixed football up to U14’s level by the association in Wales. Great news for Millie and Mia and great news for Dynamos for two of their great female players. Watch out for a feature about the girls and women’s football in the next couple of weeks. 

Here is the photo of Jamie Blood (manager of our Under 11’s ) picking up his Charter Standard Coach of The Year award from Frank Hannah of the Manchester County Football Association. The award recognises Jamie’s input across the last year not only to Failsworth Dynamos but to the Failsworth community in general, running many initiatives at the Failsworth Soccer Centre together with Lee Folkard including the ground breaking ‘Friday Night Project’ where Jamie and his colleagues created a Friday night league that has not only successfully kept lots of teenagers off the streets on a key night of the week but created a fun league of mixed age groups and clubs that the kids absolutely love. Jamie has now moved on into a new role at Oldham Athletic and we can only expect to see more and more exciting initiatives from this young and up and coming influence in football. I am sure his team and all at Dynamos would join me in saying ‘Well Done Jamie’.

Our very own Zak Lees of our Open Age Sunday team is the M.E.N.’s Face of Manchester 2009.  Zak shared the honour with Barrister Sophie Robinson as the judges were unable to pick an outright  winner from them both so they decided to make it a double. Zak (20) and Sophie (24), beat hundreds of hopefuls from across Greater Manchester. The judges - including celebrity hair stylist Nicky Clarke, John Lewis regional managing director Maggie Porteous and Nemesis model booker Sam Coulson - were unable to choose one ahead of the other. Zak, described by the M.E.N. as a ‘Vernon Kay lookalike from Failsworth’ was entered for the competition by his mum Kath. He said: "I'm absolutely ecstatic’ Hosted by Manchester model Alex Leigh, the catwalk finale at John Lewis in the Trafford Centre saw eleven finalists battling it out. The two winners landed a model contract with Nemesis, a makeover with Nicky Clarke, a chance to be the face of Manchester-based Duty Free Jeans - and a series of photo shoots in the M.E.N. Nice one Zak - who just happens to also be a great footballer for Dynamos.

The club would like to wish one of its sons all the very best in his new job. Jamie Blood, player for over 10 years and  manager of our U10's A team has moved on from his role in The Failsworth Soccer Centre and has now become Development Co-ordinator for Oldham Athletic Football Club within their Community Trust. His role will evolve heavily around local clubs and more specifically charter standard clubs. His aims are to build a close relationship with Oldham Athletic for all the local clubs including his old club of Failsworth Dynamos. I am sure that you will all join me in wishing Jamie all the very best for the future in his new role. STOP PRESS - Saturday 6th June and we have just been notified that Jamie has been selected for the Charter Standard Coach of The Year award from the Manchester FA for 2009 and will receive the award this week. During the course of this week, the club will be paying tribute to a handful of managers / coaches who will be leaving the club in the coming weeks. With any club, every year sees changes in personnel as personal situations amd committments change and people need sometimes to take a back seat from their involvement. One such change is our good pal Steve Hankinson. Steve has been heavily involved at Dynamos for the last four years and has managed the present U13's team since they were 9 and 10 years old. He has always played a major part in club events as too have his whole family, wife Jo, eldest son Fraser (Assistant Manager) and youngest son Joe (Goalkeeper)  helping out at tournaments and on presentation evenings. Steve has always gone the extra mile with his team too not just running them as a football team but always offering them something extra and doing things for them across the year. Recently, we were all delighted to hear that Joe had been taken on by Rochdale but this has meant that Steve had to plan for next year supporting Joe properly and with work committments can't be with the team. Not to worry though the club is rallying round and we hope to find someone soon to take the team on. For the moment though we could like to thank Steve, Jo, Fraser and Joe for all their efforts for the lads and wish Joe all the very best in his future career. They won't be going far though as we hope to still see them at future events as they have been great supporters of the club. All the best Steve from all at Dynamos.

We've seen some great players at Failsworth Dynamos over the years but none better than young Joe Rathbone who is a member of our current Under 10's squad run by Jamie Blood and Neil Artus. Joe played his last game for Dynamos on Saturday as he now signs for Oldham Athletic permanently and joins their ranks next season. He will be a sad loss for the club and we know that Jamie, Neil and all his team mates will miss him terribly but we all celebrate this brilliant young lads success and the great performances he has given his team for the last five years since he joined the club following in the footsteps of his brothers Sam and Ben  who have also come through the ranks at Dynamos to go on to sign for Oldham. Maybe one day we could experience the fantastic sight of three brothers all ex Dynamos playing for Oldham Athletic. How great would that be? Anyway best of luck to Joe. Go get em mate (see also a lovely tribute from the Hollister family on the guestbook page and have a look in the gallery above where as a tribute to Joe we are downloading a large photo of the famous Joe and team mates picture when they dived in the mud).

In terrible conditions, the club's Under 16's ended the season by winning the Rocdale and Oldham U16's League Cup in tremendous style and a superb 2-1 win at Castleton Gabriels. Dave Merrington's lads never looked in any trouble as they played some fantastic football in heavy rain and what ended up a mudbath of a pitch. Many congratulations go to this side who have endured a tough season but have come up with the goods yet again. Well done lads and well done also to Dave Merrington and Geraldine Sidlow who have been tremendously supportive and hardworking for this team.

We all take our hats off to U11's Coach Ben Lawson and U11's Mum, Karen Wetton who today in torrential rain took on the 10K Bupa run through the streets of Manchester and Salford and came home triumphant. This was a fantastic achievement by these two great people who ventured into the unknown and volunteered to run this event in aid of the Matty D fund. Both Ben and Karen, pictured here proudly bearing their Matty D shirts after finishing in central Manchester with Karen's son Michael, both told of the encouragement they received throughout the run from bystanders shouting 'Come on Matty D' which they both said kept them going and made them even more determined to get to the finish line. Well done to both Ben and Karen who received a huge personal  thanks from Gary and Joanne Dalton who were on the scene today with Chairman Leo Turner in Manchester city centre to congratulate them both on their magnificent achievement after they had finished.   

Dynamos U11, Michael Wetton, running in aid of the Matty D Fund, today completed a hat trick of BUPA runs when he completed the 2.5K BUPA race at the City of Manchester Stadium. To cap off a great day for Michael and his family, at the finish line he bumped into Dynamos team mate Michael (Psycho) Sidebottom who had also just completed the run. Both Michael's pictured here at the finish line have done the club proud in a first class event that Dynamos are now considering entering all their players under the age of 14 into next year. Also spotted on the run were U13's player Kane Wallwork and former Under 11's player Rabanne Murray. Well done to all the lads and well done on the hat trick for Michael. Now to tomorrow when U11's Assistant Manager Ben Lawson and Michael's Mum Karen Wetton take on the 10K BUPA race in City centre Manchester. Good luck to you both, we are proud of you already just for entering.

What a fantastic day for our Under 11's who stormed through to win the Avros 11 -a-side Tournament today (Sunday 26th April) after eight matches and some solid performances. Many congratulations go to Wayne Kennedy Jnr and Ben Lawson and the kids who are pictured above with their trophies. I can only echo Charlie's Dad's comments on the guestbook about this squad who are so typical of the Dynamos ethos of 110% effort but with a great team spirit. Well done Kids you have done Wayne, Ben and your parents proud this season. 

Massive Congratulations to the Under 14's Juniors who under the guidance and leadership of Phil Aitken and Alan Neatis and the captaincy of Mike Berrisford secured their Tameside league title with games to spare and remain unbeaten in the league this season. They also appear in the League Cup Final on 10th May At Ashton Uninted's Ground to go for an amazing double. Well done lads and good luck on the 10th.

Huge congratulations to our Under 9's A and Under 9's B who today both clinched their League Cup Titles on the final day of the season. This was an amazing double for the Under 9's and achieved with great football all played in a superb spirit. The club would like to congratulate all the players of both teams on their fantastic achievements and a massive thanks goes to Managers, Tony Tapper, Phil Millward and John Cooper on bringing this all together. The club is extremely proud of all of the people involved and we are sure the parents are very proud of all the kids who have been just brilliant all season. Well done to all. Michael Wetton is running again in the Greater Manchester Junior Run on Saturday 16th May. This time though he is being doubly supported by his manager Ben Lawson and his Mum Karen Wetton who are also running in the Greater Manchester 10K Run the day after on Sunday 17th May. All three of them are doing it in memory of Matty Dalton for the Matty D fund and the club would like to wish them all the very best in their preparations and on the day itself. Dynamos would like to pay tribute to Gary Henderson and his entire family for the wonderful Gala Dinner held at the City of Manchester Stadium on Saturday. If anyone needed any further evidence that Dynamos is a family orientated club then this was a perfect example as the entire Henderson family was involved in making this evening a massive success. Gary lead from the front in organising the whole event with support from wife Sue, Sister in Law Jane, Sister and Brother In law Karen and Bernard and Daughters Olivia and Claudia along with their friends keeping all the events of the evening moving along. A first class meal was accompanied by two great singers Sherry Dale and Victor Michaels (who took the evening by strom with his classical style) and a very funny comedian Denny Waters. All of this was littered in between with some very well organised fund raising events. Gary even found time to make sure that main sponsor John Wilson of Quoteline Direct was presented with a framed Dynamos / Quoteline shirt to thank him for his continued support of the club.  The club would like to thank Gary and all his family for this wonderful effort on behalf of the children and adult players of Failsworth Dynamos. Well done Gaz!

The club's fourth Annual Gala Dinner headed by Vice Chairman Gary Henderson is to take place in the Citizen Suite at the City of Manchester Stadium on Saturday 21st March. All managers, coaches, officials, players and supporters of the club and their family members are invited to momentous occasion for the club and Oldham Town Football club on the evening of Monday 2nd March. That night will see the official launch of the intended merger between the two clubs at Oldham Town's clubhouse at the Whitebank Stadium in Hollins. The evening begins at 7.30pm with a special announcement at 8.30pm to offically see the project launched that plans to build a £5m complex in the local area within the next 2/3 years. Two huge bits of news for the club this week. Firstly of the discussions between Failsworth Dynamos Football Club and Oldham Town Football Club of a merger that will see the newly formed club build new £5Million facilities in the local community which will include a fantastic stadium, floodlit training facilities, clubhouse and function rooms amongst many other incredible facilities. Watch out for more news on this incredible development shortly. The second bit of fantastic news is that we now have a date for the fourth club Gala Dinner which is to be held on Saturday 21st March at the City of Manchester Stadium. Top class entertainment and a three course meal is on offer for £30 per head. The club would like to wish all our players and officials and their familes and friends and our wonderful sponsors and supporters a very happy New Year. Lets make 2009 a great year for everyone and put the focus on making sure that everyone enjoys being part of this great club. The clubs objectives for the year include making significant progress in both their projects on Lord Lane and on Broadway to ensure that the players and other youngsters in the Failsworth area get the best possible facilities to play football and other sports. Some of our new Under 6's for the 2008/2009 season made their club debuts last Sunday playing a series of friendlies against a very well organised Heaton Mersey Vipers Under 6's at the Failsworth Soccer Centre. Manager Matt Ross said that the kids had done the club really proud as they found their feet and improved as each game went on. It won't be long before the teams is firing on all cylinders. We hope to see the remainder of our under 6's who are training with us also get a run out early next year sometime. Pictured above is Matt and Martin and the lads.

The first stage of the Tameside & District season for Under 8's and Under 9's has now closed with all teams completing their fixtures at weekend. This saw massive successes for all our teams with both U8's A and B finishing with incredible un matchable records at their age group in their friendly divisions with the A playing 18 winning 16 drawing 1 and losing 1 and the B playing 18 winning 15 drawing 2 and losing 1. Our U9's A have a fantastic league record losing only their first game of the season having played 18 and won 15 and drawn 2 and were pipped for the title by only 3 points (how unlucky is that). But the record of the four teams must go to our Under 9's B who played 18 won all 18 and won their division by a mile - what a record. Well done to all the kids involved in these magnificent efforts and a huge well done to our fantastic mini soccer management teams who have shown that they are simply the best.

Watch out for the 2009 calendar that they all want to see. The photo shoot took place on Saturday 12th November to kick things off for Simon Cooper's and Kerry Fannon's project to create a Dynamos calendar for 2009. It will contain some amazing pictures from the Dynamos world and will be on sale soon - watch the website for details. In the meantime here is a sneak preview of just one of the photos which is of our first team and reserves. 

Wayne Kennedy Junior has some interesting training sessions on the go on a Wednesday night at the Failsworth Soccer centre. On Halloween, our U11's trained in full fancy dress including manager Wayne and some of the kids looked pretty frightening. Thanks to Lee and the soccer centre for providing the camera on the night to capture the moment and well done to the kids for making an effort.  Now go back to just being feared on the football field.

This is the picture we all have wanted to see for the last week. Kane Kelly back with his team and with a big smile on his face. For those of you Dynamos out there who don't know, Kane broke his arm last week whilst putting in a goal saving tackle for Tony Tapper's Under 9's team down at St George Playing fields. His injury didn't just upset Kane and his family but the whole club felt it as the phone calls started last Saturday and we all found out that he was in hospital. So we are really glad to see him here back with his mates of the under 9's and receiving a get well present from them. Get well soon Kane. The club is also planning a little surprise for you soon so make sure that you are on the mend. The above picture shows the balloon release in memory of Matty Dalton which took place on Sunday 31st August. Matty's parents, Gary and Joanne and their friends and family again joined forces with Failsworth Dynamos and their fellow junior football clubs to make this wonderful tribute even more emotional and colourful than last year. As the balloons were released hundreds of children rushed on to the pitch to make it a wonderful and a memorable scene. The club would like to say well done to all concerned. This was a proud moment for all of us and the message was really clear - Matty D -  Dynamo Forever.

The club is busy preparing for its two day Matty Dalton Tournament on Sat 30th and Sun 31st August which will take place at the new Failsworth Soccer Centre on Brierley Avenue in Failsworth. Our tournament is again dedicated to the memory of our dear player Matty and the main feature of the two days will be the balloon release in his memory on the Sunday afternoon - 31st August. Pictured here with their fundraising shakers are our Dynamos who took part in the Failsworth Carnival Parade on Saturday 19th July. The kids raised lots of money for Failsworth charities as they marched through the streets proudly chanting their Dynamos songs. Well done to all the children, managers, coaches and parents who took part in very mixed weather on the day. They all did Dynamos proud. The club will assist Failsworth Police run a penalty shoot out on the Lord Lane pitch on Sunday 20th July, the second and final day of the carnival.

This year's Matty Dalton Tournament has been so popular with our fellow junior clubs out there that we have now had to close the Tournament to new entries with six weeks still to go before the event takes place. This is a real tribute to the efforts made by the club to make this annual event a huge success in Matty's name and with over 100 teams due to take part over the weekend of 30th and 31st August, both the Tournament and the balloon release in Matty's memory are set to be even more memorable. Given that last year the weather was so bad we had to move the second day, we would like to thank all our fellow clubs out there for again supporting this event.

They said it would be hard to top the 2007 Presentation Evenings but with the help of the Co-operative Group, Dynamos have done it. From our Under 6's all the way through to our two open age teams, every player and every manager was a credit to the club, to their families and to the community in general. This was a magnificent display of so many of the kind of attributes we need to see in young people today and the people who have an influence over them. There are so  many thank you's we will save the full list for the Presentation Night page (see left) which will be updated soon but for the moment massive thanks go to The Co-operative Group for their support in sponsoring the evenings, the two Dave's, Moores and Griffiths for their brilliant personal support and three very special guests, Deane Smalley from Oldham Athletic, Greg Hartley of Man City (and Dynamos of course) and Michael (The Predator) Gomez. Here it is - the picture they've all been waiting for. A massive well done to our Under 9's B on their first major award. The team were awarded the prestigous Fair Play award at the Manchester FA Soccer Festival recently. The team lead by long standing Dynamos Michael Shenton and Michael Ball totally deserve this accolade as they have gone from strength to strength since forming two seasons ago. Long may their success continue and the club would like to add to the tributes coming in by congratulating Bally and Shent and the lads (and of course Niamh) and say how proud the club are of them, particularly of the fact that this is a fair play award which means they are developing not only as footballers but in a sporting fashion. Well done kids and see you on Presentation Night. The Rathbones, Wendy & Steve, have produced yet another exceptional player who has gone one step further than his brothers Sam & Ben, and won the Player of the Year for the Mini Soccer U9's. Indeed, Joe, is the first player from the Club to achieve this honour. Both Sam & Ben are now at the Academy at Oldham Athletic and I'm sure they would join his manager Jamie Blood in saying " Joe is an extremely gifted player, but what sets Joe apart from other players of his age is that he always puts the team first, winning the Player of the Year award is well deserved. He has been terrific all season". A MASSIVE WELL DONE JOE!! From all at Dynamos. 

The clubs prestigous event at the Midland Hotel in Manchester draws nearer and we are pleased to announce that a few tables are still available for businesses to buy to support this fantastic cause. Dynamos Under 7s took two teams over as guests of Manchester Maccabi recently as they staged the first ever tournament over at their splendid new facility in Prestwich. The tournament was based on a two group system featuring five games, with each group winner receiving a plaque. Team A finished runners up in their group despite not losing a single game all day, while Team B (pictured) went as far as winning their group and securing a trophy after managing four wins and a draw in the five games they played. Well done to both teams for all their hard work on a day when some great football was played, and many thanks to Mike Carr and Pete
Haughton for managing the lads so successfully.

In only their second year since formation, the club's under 13's juniors (pictured above) deservedly picked up their league cup finalists trophies on Thursday night at the Tameside League awards. To add to the nights successes, manager Phil Aitken was awarded the divisional 'Club Official of The Year' award to a huge cheer around the large Dynamos crowd that attended on the night. Well done Phil and well done to Alan and the lads on a great season. Watch out for a seperate report on the U13's awards night which also resulted in special recognition for another Dynamo. Stories to follow this week also include our U15's Reddish Cup Final appearance, a recent tournament win at Maccabi for our U7's, A first Mini Soccer title for Dynamos with our U8's B and a special story on our June Midlands Dinner. 

Kane Wallwork, who the club lost to Manchester City three years ago is back with Dynamos and re-joins our U14's for next year. Kane could actually play U13's next season but has chosen to return to the team that he helped form back in 2001 when he was only five years old. Kane is a massive acquisition for the U14's as his classy midfield play will add quality to an already brilliant squad. Good luck Kane - Great to have you back.

Michael Wetton  completed the Tesco Junior Greater Manchester Run last weekend and looks to have raised £200 for the Matty Dalton Fund.  The club and Gary and Joanne Dalton would like to congratulate Michael on his brilliant run and thank him for taking the time out to do something so special. The run took place on 17th May at the City of Manchester Stadium and Michael is busy collecting sponsor money. Simon & Neil's Open Age Sunday team emulated the success of the club's Saturday Open Age team last week winning their respective Division 1 title in the Oldham Sunday League and then went one step further completing the double by winning the Divisional Shield on Sunday at Chadderton FC in a comprehensive 3-0 win over Holts Utd. Congratulations go to Simon, Neil and the lads and to coach Fran Egan for a superb season in a very difficult open age league for such a young set of lads. The clubs achievements at Open Age level this season have been nothing short of brilliant.  

Michael Wetton, aged 10 and a member of Wayne Kennedy Jnr's squad is the present holder of the club's prestigous Matty Dalton Award having won the honour at our 2006/2007 Presentation Evening back in July 2007 (see picture above). Last year Michael ran the Tesco Junior Greater Manchester Run in memory of his great gran and raised money for Cancer Research. This year Michael has approached Gary and Joanne Dalton and is to do the run in aid of the Matty Dalton Fund. The run will take place on 17th May at the City of Manchester Stadium and Michael needs sponsors now. What an achievement. Our Open Age Saturday team have won back to back championships in their first two seasons in the highly regarded Lancashire Amatuer League. Back to back promotions would have been impressive but to go up as champions two years running is just fantastic. Many congratulations go to all the players (pictured above in a champagne celebration), Skipper Tony Ellis, Manager Wayne Kennedy Snr & Assistant Manager Wayne Joynes. A special mention also to coach Jonathan Platt who emigrated this season to  Iowa early on the season but who has played a major part in the last two years success. Well done lads from all the club. Oldham Athletic's loss has been Dynamos gain as the club welcomes back Darcy O'Connor to its U13's team. Darcy was a founder member of the U7's in 2001 and spent two years with the club before being snapped up by Oldham Athletic but now he's back and looking forward to the 2008/2009 season with next years U14's. Pictured here in his new Dynamos Matty D shirt, Darcy is being welcomed back to the club by Skipper Jaedon Keane who played in the same Dynamos team as Darcy seven years ago when they first kicked a ball for the club. Everyone at Dynamos is delighted to have a player with Darcy's talents back and hope that he enjoys his football in the coming months ahead.

Many congratulations to our Under 13's Jnrs who have made the Tameside League Cup Final to take place at Hurst Cross on Sunday 4th May. Phil Aitken and Alan Neatis's lads beat Hattersley 3-2 in a dramatic match at Chapel Road with a late winner from Claudio Salvaggio after Andy Cassell had notched both of Dynamos other goals. Skipper Mike Berrisford proudly lead the lads to hold on until the final whistle and see this much improved side make their first final. All credit to Phil, Alan and the lads and the club wishes them the very best of luck in the final. 

Congratulations to the Under 13's on their magnificent win in the Tameside Challenge Cup Final at Hurst Cross against Boundary Park. This was a wonderful team performance with gritty performances around the team, none more notable than Captain, Jaedon Keane and our man of the match Tiger Freeman, Danny Turner's first half strike was added to with two second half goals from Tiger resulting in a 3-2 win for the lads pictured above receiving their champagne shower in their proudly worn Matty D kit. The lads also go into the last few weeks of the season in the semi final of the League Cup and still in the race for the title. Good luck lads. Thanks to all the Dynamos officials and managers / coaches who came to support the boys on the night and a particular thanks to Stan Bowles (ex England and Man City / QPR ) who came specially to watch the lads and support his nephew Scott (Elvis) McBride who had a great game on the right wing along with team mates, Luca Joyce, Macca Harewood, Sidders Sidlow, Toasty Badejo, Jacko Gardner, Kyloe Pereira, Sam James, Kano McQuaid, Kano Derbyshire, Muzza Murray and last but not least star man Shawn B Bughaili. 

The club has had to make the unprecedented decision to close Lord Lane's football pitch for the rest of the season to allow important recovery time and prepare for work to start on there for the 2008/2009 season. The reasons behind the decision are many. In the summer the Failsworth Carnival / Fair caused untold damage to the pitch that was nothing short of vandalism (see the downloads section  of this website for pics of the some of the damage done at the time). As this then prevented the club working on the ground pre season as planned, the recovery ability of the pitch disappeared. Add to that the weather this season and the fact that due to the closure of Brierley Avenue pitches many of our teams have tried to use Lord Lane as their home pitch, this has been an impossible situation. All our 11-a-side teams will now look for local pitches to play out the rest of their important seasons and the club will be writing to the Council this week in an attempt to ban the 2008 carnival from the pitch. The club is seeking all our 300 players and parents / families support in this matter.  

The club is pleased to announce that the 2008 Matty Dalton Tournament will take place at the new 3G and Grass pitch facilities on Brierley Avenue, Failsworth on Saturday 30th August (U7's, U9's and U11's) and Sunday 31st August (U8's, U10's and U12's). As in previous years, U7's to U10's will be mini soccer tournaments with the U11's and U12's competitions being 11-a-side. The Sunday will also see our 2008 tribute to the life of Matty Dalton with another spectacular and emotional balloon release being arranged by Matty's mum, dad, friends and family. One of the club's legends, Wayne Kennedy Jnr, has just become a father, making one of our founder members, Wayne Kennedy Snr, a grandad. The club sends its congratulations to Wayne and of course the person who did all the work - Mum - Jorden, on the birth of their beautiful daughter, Mia, pictured above. You must all be so proud. 

The club's annual Gala Dinner lead by Vice Chairman Gary Henderson was a huge success at Smokies on Saturday Night (2nd Feb). This was truly another great Dynamos night and all credit has to go to Gary and his family for organising a wonderful evening. This has been a difficult task for Gary as tickets sales did not originally go as expected but the people who attended on the night saw a first class evening with the wonderful Victor Haynes (clearly one of the best crooners on the circuit) and  comedian Billy Bean (who had the crowd in stitches) adding to a very entertaining event. Many thanks must go to Gary's close family who supported him and the evening. Sue, Olivia and Claudia Henderson, Jane Valentine and Gary's sister Karen Halford worked extremely hard to make the night a success but first and foremost a massive thanks to Gary for driving this event and delivering another great night for the club.  Well done Gaz from all at the club.

Many congratulations to the Under 11's who progressed through to last eight of the county cup after a 6-1 victory over Glossop NE Juniors. Congratulations also to the Under 15's who won their Reddish Cup Semi Final away to Curzon Ashton 1-0 with a superb Nathan Martin free kick. Well done to both teams and their respective managers Phil Evans, Gary Henderson, Dave Merrington and Geraldine Sidlow. 

Happy New Year to all our players, officials, sponsors and their families. It is anticipated that 2008 will be a big year for Failsworth Dynamos and if it is half as good as 2007 then we will be in for a great 12 months. Whatever happens, we hope that you all enjoy your football and in fact whatever you do and the year is full of happy memories as was 2007. All the very best and watch out for an announcement in the next week or so about our big club meeting for parents and players on 18th Jan to discuss the clubs ambitions for the future.

The club's annual Gala Dinner being lead by Vice Chairman Gary Henderson is to be held at Smokies in Oldham on Saturday 2nd February 2008. Tickets details will be available from Dynamos officials shortly and will sell like hot cakes so get your order in quickly for what will be another great Dynamos night. Gary has announced that proceeds from the event will go into the club's Broadway Fund which is being set up to fund the eventual building of new facilities for the players of Failsworth Dynamos and the wider community. 

Watch this space over the next week or so for news of a significant meeting to be held in the new year for all members of Failsworth Dynamos including managers, parents, players and officials where ambitious new plans for the club will be unveiled and people will be invited to take part in the exciting future of this great football club.

The club is very proud to announce that we have another two qualified coaches to add to the ever growing list of talented officials at the club. Matt Ross (Coach Under 7's) and Neil Artus (Coach Under 9's) both qualified today in their FA Level 1 course with the Manchester County Football Association. The club would like to congratulate them both and thank them for the time they gave up over the last few weeks to show their committment to the club and the children in their care by getting themselves qualified. 

The club received confirmation earlier today, 18th October, from Oldham Metropolitan Borough Council that its bid for land on Broadway has been successful at the first stage. This means that the club will now be invited to attend final negotiations with the council with regard to securing a lease of the site and be allowed to build and self manage new facilities. This is momentous news and just what the club needed. Also in the post today is a personal letter from the Government's Minister for Sport, Gerry Sutcliffe following the club's recent letter to the Prime Minister. Mr Sutcliffe encourages the club to continue with its great work in the community and congratulates all players, managers and coaches involved and states that he and the Prime Minister fully recognises and cherishes the vital contribution from clubs such as ours. You can now download both of the above letters and the letter to Gordon Brown from our Chairman by clicking on the 'Contact Us' button at the head of the Home Page and then clicking on 'Downloads' at the bottom of the 'Contact Us' page. .

A huge well done to Ian Slack who completed the Great North Run on Sunday in 1 Hour, 37 minutes and 29 seconds finishing 1,814th out of 50,000 runners. Pictured here after finishing in his specially made Matty D shirt, Ian raised £300 for the NSPCC and £300 for our own Matty D Fund plus whatever our teams have raised for Ian. The club would like to thank Ian for this great effort and say well done on his sporting achievement. Thanks mate.

Well done to everyone who took part in todays Rally at Lord Lane. The Rally was held to show anyone who may be interested and particularly Oldham Borough Council that the club is alive and well and playing a major part in the Failsworth community and wider afield. Channel M and the Oldham Chrinicle covered the event which was attended also by Oldham Councillors. Players ranging from our Under 6's through to the Open Age team (fresh from their 3-2 win in the Lancashire Amatuer League on the Lord Lane pitch) took part in a photo session that should see the club receive some well deserved publicity in its plight for better facilities in Failsworth and its bid to eventually own its own land in the Failsworth Area. The catalyst for the Rally was this weeks news that the club had been denied planning permission for its only changing rooms at the Lord Lane pitch because the buildings were not aesthetic. In light of the recent tragic events in Croxteth, never has it been more appropriate to keep children off the streets and away from gangs. Its about time that local government woke up to the fact that clubs like Dynamos do just that. See local press for the full story.

The club urgently needs your support to show Oldham Council that it is serious about its bid for land on Broadway to build first class football facilities for our players and the children of Failsworth. Failsworth Dynamos Under 7's have added silverware to their honours list and they haven't even started their first season properly yet. They have won the MY&MSL Mini World Cup held to start the season in the Manchester Youth and Mini Soccer League. They beat Boundary Park in a tense penalty shoot out after the sides were locked at 1-1 at full time. Boundary took the lead with a great free kick early in the first  half and put Dynamos under some real pressure but solid defending and team work kept the score to 0-1 at half time. Tony Jordan's half time talk must have been inspirational  because  Dynamos came out in the second half in great spirits and midway through the second half equalised in spectacular fashion through Antoine Niyindagiye. Full time saw the sides level and on to that penalty shoot out with Dynamos blasting their way to victory. The game was a credit to both Dynamos and Boundary Park (who are a cracking team). Well done to Tony and the kids and here's to a great season ahead.

Olivia Henderson not only climbed Sidney Harbour Bridge this summer to raise money for charity but she also made sure that her visit was marked with a picture of her in Sidney proudly wearing her Dynamos Matty D shirt. Well done Olivia - we are proud of you - thats got to be the furthest away a Dynamos shirt has been.

The lads were taking part in this years FA Festival held at Manchester County's headquarters in Salford.

Balloon Release update.

It is only Thursday and we have already had 29 tickets returned since the release.

They are all from the Yorkshire area so far, e.g.Halifax, Leeds, Ripponden but it is early days yet so who knows where they might end up. The first ticket was actually hand delivered on Sunday by a lady who lives in Clayton who had been visiting her mums pub in Halifax when it landed in the beer garden at 4.30pm Saturday afternoon, only about an hour after it was released!!!!

Now that the dust has settled and we have all had time to reflect on this years Presentation Evenings, I'm sure we will all agree that all those involved in putting on the two nights, produced the best, most emotional and most professional Presentation Evenings we have ever had. It was fitting that we celebrated our 10th anniversary and a number of people, who had a lot to do with where we are and how far we have come, were there on the Friday to celebrate with us. 

Congratulations go to all the players, managers, coaches, parents & officials who were successful on the nights and roll on next year.    

Please note that the second day of the Matty Dalton Tournament to be hosted by Failsworth Dynamos for U8's, U10's and U12's is now to be 4th August 2007 with the balloon release in memory of Matty taking place that afternoon. The venue as you all should know now is South Failsworth School, Paddock Lane, Failsworth. Teams taking part will be contacted by the Tournament Co-ordinator with further details before the day. The club's Under 6's (soon to become Under 7's) are looking forward to their first presentation night at the club and the new season as they enter the Manchester Youth Mini Soccer League for their first season in matches with other clubs. As their new photo shows, Tony Jordan has a well organised band of players who also know how to have fun. Good luck lads from all at the club. 

Did anyone notice that the BBC television series 'The Street' won a BAFTA this week in the British Film and Television Awards? This means that the lads of the Under 19's and Open Age group that appeared in the series won another award this year as they played a major part in the series posing as the football team in programme three. Luke Mack was actually mentioned by name in the programme when screened and Gary Henderson ended up in a non speaking part. Just thought you might be interested. Watch out in the next few days for a new photo of the best organised U6's team in the business as they prepare for their first Dynamos season.

Our Under 7's B lead by Phil Millward and James Dailey were invited last weekend to visit the Liverpool Football Academy and receive some free coaching from the Liverpool staff. The invite had been extended by close club friend and senior Liverpool Scout, Brian Pearson. Phil informs us that the lads loved every minute of the visit which was first class. Congratulations to the under 12's Tameside whose skipper Jaedon Keane proudly lifted the Tameside League Cup at Ashton Utd's Hurst Cross ground. The lads narrowly beat Hattersley 1-0 in a hard fought game that saw Danny Turner score the only goal of the match midway through the second half. After a magnificent first season in the Tameside League, the team has also finished runners up in the League and reached the semi final of the Challenge Cup and reached the last 16 of the county cup only going out to eventual winners. Here's to 2007/2008 lads and another great season - the club is really proud of you. 

Dave Dean and Dave Moxon’s Under 11’s Dynamo side romped home to victory at Ashton United’s Hurst Cross ground  to take their first trophy of the season as they won the Tameside Challenge Cup against a very good Kippax boys team. Goals from Kane Hughes (2), Riley Moxon and Skipper, Ben Rathbone, sealed a magnificent 4 -1 victory in  a brilliant game of football that was a credit to both sides. Dynamos now go into next week’s League Cup final in buoyant mood. Well done lads from all at the club.

The under 14's under the leadership of Martin Houghton clinched the Manchester Youth Sunday League U14's League Title on Tuesday night at Lord Lane against Moston Juniors in a 5 goal thriller. The lads had to come back from 2-0 down to win 3-2 and claim the title in Martin's first year as Manager. The club would like to extend their congratulations to Martin and the boys on this super achievement. Well done all of you. This is the second league title in a week to be won at Lord Lane for the club and a great week for Dynamos.

Wayne Kennedy's Open Age Dynamos squad have clinched the Lancashire Amatuer League's second division title in only their first season operating at the Open Age level. The squad, which contains no fewer than five Dynamos managers / coaches all under the age of 21, remain unbeaten all season in the league. They beat Rochdale St Clements 2-1 in front of a bumper home crowd with both goals coming from Matty Heap. As the final whistle went, news came through that Dynamos' nearest rivals had drawn 0-0 to ensure that the title had been won with a game to spare. Many of Dynamos' managers and coaches were there to cheer the lads on and ensure they were some of the first people to congratulate Wayne and first team coach Jonathan Platt on this maginificent achievement in an extremely high quality and competitive league. Well done lads - the club is extremely proud of all of you.

The club is delighted to announce that it has now set the date for the 2007 Matty Dalton Tournament and annual balloon release in Matty's memory. The two day event will take place on Saturday 30th June and Sunday 1st July with the Balloon release being on the Sunday. The club is very much in debt to the headteacher and staff of Kaskenmoor High School, Failsworth, who have agreed to allow Dynamos to host the event at their school. The club pays tribute to Vice Chairman, Gary Henderson this week for producing a first class evening on Saturday 3^rd March at New Century House when he presented the clubs second annual Gala Dinner. The evening which was celebrated by over 200 guests consisted of first class food and entertainment with live music from the excellent ‘XL’ and comedy from TV’s Johnnie Casson. Gary ended the evening auctioning off various items of prestigious football memorabilia raising vital funds for the club. Thanks go to Gary and his family for working so hard to put the event on and also to all the sponsors, supporters, managers, parents and players who attended the evening. Well Done Gary.

This years Gala Dinner being organised by Gary Henderson is to be held at the city centre venue of New Century Hall (facing Victoria Station and the M.E. N. Arena. This venue has been much celebrated over the last few years being the venue for auditions for X Factor, Pop Idol and only recently ( Saturday 3^rd February ) being used for Big Brother auditions for 2007. Gary has arranged a first class evening of a three course meal, Top TV Comedian, Johnnie Casson, cabaret duo, XL and a top DJ to finish off the evening. Tickets are going fast and will be limited, so order yours now through a player or manager or Gary himself. Leo Turner (Chairman)

The Chairman, Leo Turner paid tribute this week to one of Dynamos greats - Wayne Kennedy Junior. 'Wayne is not only a top player, a top coach and manager but a top bloke - he is a credit to Dynamos and is one of the best up and coming coaches in the junior game. Wayne and Danny (Millsy) Mills led the way for the young coaches of Dynamos who have developed from the playing side of the club into coaching and managing. Jamie Blood, Ben Lawson, Michael Shenton and Michael Ball (also Dynamos legends) have also made the transition and give the club a massive future in the development of young footballers in Manchester and Oldham'. 20^th January 2007 – that’s the date to remember for our Under 8’s B who recorded their first ever competitive win in the MYSL Mini Soccer League beating Chaddy End B 2-0 in a 10.45am kick off at ten Acre Lane . The kids have been simply brilliant all season since kicking off their first season together in September. Coaches, Michael Ball and Michael Shenton who also play for the club at U17’s and Open Age Level have worked so hard to continuously improve performances and together with goalkeeping coach, Gary Hollingsworth and the dedication of all the players have brought about this special day and the beginning of great things for the team. The club would like to congratulate them all for their dedication and patience and will be watching their continued progress this season and beyond.
